Testimony of reverend
Victor Verhoye parish priest:

I certify that as chaplain in the camp of French POWs in Hohenfels since beginning 1942,
I happened to know the situation of the Jewish POWs from the French army that were in this camp.
Those were victims from the part of the camp commandant of all kind of discriminatory measures, from the obligation to wear distinctive signs during long periods of time, to daily vexations, insults, ill-usages and assignments to military tasks specially hard and dangerous.
I did intervene in many occurrences in their favor, but never was I able to obtain a total relief of those discriminatory and racial measures.
